The EuroQol Condition Specific Task Force has several mandates:  (1) to provide summaries of the validity and reliability of the EQ-5D-3L in different disease areas; (2) to advance usefulness of the EQ-5D for disease-specific applications; (3) to evaluate measurement properties of the EQ-5D-5L in various conditions/populations; (4) and to support research on the EQ-5D instrument in the future.

Current initiatives:

• “crosswalk” between the EQ-5D-3L value sets and the new EQ-5D-5L descriptive system (manuscript under review)
• Establishment of a repository of patient-level EQ-5D data
• Syntheses of literature on the application of EQ-5D in different disease states/conditions
• Studies evaluating properties of EQ-5D in condition specific patient databases

Bolt on group

In 2011, a working group has been appointed, reporting directly to the EQ Executive Committee, to consider the conceptual basis to develop condition-specific bolt-ons/dimension extensions to the standard EQ-5D.
