The EuroQol Group was represented at the ISPOR 14th Annual European Congress in Madrid, Spain.
During the ISPOR meeting in Madrid, the EuroQol Group organized a workshop: VALUING HEALTH IN ECONOMIC EVALUATION: INNOVATIVE RESPONSES TO METHODOLOGICAL CHALLENGES.
This workshop, attended by more than 200 people, provided a briefing on results obtained in the EuroQol Multi-Country Valuation Pilot Study using electronic valuation methods to identify the optimal way to elicit values for health states defined by the EQ-5D-5L Descriptive System.
The workshop addressed the following topics:
- The practical and theoretical strengths and weaknesses of several elicitation techniques
- Results from the EuroQol 8-Country Valuation Pilot Study (n=3200 respondents) to demonstrate the feasibility of an innovative hybrid methodology combining lead-time TTO and DC
- Other methodological topics. Results will be supplemented by an examination of other contemporary issues that include the potential to derive utility functions for DC data
